Are you Walking in The Light?

Acts 9:1-7

And Saul, yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest,
And desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he found any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound unto Jerusalem.
And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven:
And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?
And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.
And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do.
And the men which journeyed with him stood speechless, hearing a voice, but seeing no man.

People who walk in darkness have a hard time comprehending Gods light because they are in darkness. When Saul was on the Road to Damascus a light shown from heaven and he fell to the earth and he heard the voice of Jesus but he knew not who it was but then he asked who Jesus was, not everyone is going to know who Jesus is they may have heard of him. They may think they know him. They may think they are heading in the right direction serving their god. That doesn't mean they know Jesus! Saul believed in God he thought he was doing the will of God by killing all the Christians. Yet he did not know who Jesus was and when Jesus approached him on the road to Damascus he soon found out he was walking in darkness!!!

And the light shines in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

Saul had heard of Jesus but he did not know him! Saul was walking in darkness yet it was hard for him to understand the light! So because of this Jesus blinded him to allow him to see he was walking in darkness and only he had the light. He was the only way that Saul could see correctly. When we are not living for Christ we are blind living in darkness.

  Where is the Light?

                                                                                       Acts 9:8-9

And Saul arose from the earth; and when his eyes were opened, he saw no man: but they led him by the hand, and brought him into Damascus.
And he was three days without sight, and neither did eat nor drink.

Not until Jesus gave Saul his sight did Saul understand the light. When we decide to walk in the ways of the Lord then we can understand the light. Yet not until we decide to come to appoint of belief and wanting to walk in the ways of the Lord!

                                       Acts 9:17-20
17 And Ananias went his way, and entered into the house; and putting his hands on him said, Brother Saul, the Lord, even Jesus, that appeared unto thee in the way as thou camest, hath sent me, that thou mightest receive thy sight, and be filled with the Holy Ghost.
18 And immediately there fell from his eyes as it had been scales: and he received sight forthwith, and arose, and was baptized.
19 And when he had received meat, he was strengthened. Then was Saul certain days with the disciples which were at Damascus.
20 And straightway he preached Christ in the synagogues, that he is the Son of God.

As soon as Saul could comprehend that Christ was that light then he could now walk in the light.Once Saul understood this his whole life changed he started walking in the ways of the Lord and following Jesus! The scales fell off of his face and he was baptisted (baptisted after belief) and the started preaching that Jesus was Lord!

John 8:12

Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

I remember living in darkness looking for a light at the end of the tunnel! Looking for a way out of the pain, the heart ache, looking for something to give me hope, looking for love. Until I saw a light at the end of the tunnel. That's when I meet Jesus all of a sudden my life turned around and things were no longer the same. I didn't just stay in my dark tunnel but i started walking towards the light. Once I received Christ as my personal Lord and Savior and Got saved I continued to live in the light. Ask yourself what are you following after? Maybe you have lost your way and your looking for a way out? Jesus is that light you have been looking for? So start walking after the light! Cry out to him he will pull you out of the darkness!

                     Hidden Light

Matthew 5:13-16

13 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.

14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

We as people are to represent the light of Christ. Yet how can we do that if we hide the fact that we are living for God. The other day I was in my room and I knocked over my lamp and my light went out for days at night I could not see anything because there was no light in my room. How can others see the light if there is no light showing in your life? How do you know how to see without the light? We can't see anything if there is no light if the light goes out. Or if you hid your light. How will people understand how to walk after God and serve the Lord? Thats why the scripture says Let your light so shine before men. Don't be afraid to show to others that Jesus is working in your life! So they can see the good things he is doing in your life so he can get the glory and praise for what it is that he is doing!

  ReKindled !

Re·kin·dle
1. To relight (a fire).
2. To revive or renew:

Sometimes it feels like the the flame has gone out like your relationship with Christ has changed. Like the fire has died like the things are not the same. Things we use to depend on the Lord have changed because we have learned so much more, we have healed in places that use to once bound us down, things have just changed. We find it hard to have the same relationship with the Lord that we use to. Yet we must know that in Christ there is something new always to be learned. The fire doesnt have to die but you can start to relight your light with the lord. Maybe you strayed.

Isaiah 53:6

All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

We have all strayed! That doesn't mean that Christ won't take us back that we can't revive our relationship with him. The prodigal son (Luke 15) walked away from the Father to walk in darkness and do his own thing. Yet once he realized what was in the world wasnt good for him he started to come home to the Father. He started walking back to where the light was!!!! He wanted to restore his relationship with his Father. Christ will always be ready and willing to take back anyone who has been walking in darkness and wants to come back to him! To walk in light with him!
