Finding the Damsel

Finding the Damsel!

Genesis 24:13-14

13 Behold, I stand here by the well of water; and the daughters of the men of the city come out to draw water:
14 And let it come to pass, that the damsel to whom I shall say, Let down thy pitcher, I pray thee, that I may drink; and she shall say, Drink, and I will give thy camels drink also: let the same be she that thou hast appointed for thy servant Isaac; and thereby shall I know that thou hast shewed kindness unto my master.

Abraham had sent his servant off to go find a wife for Issac! He wanted Issac to have a wife who was right for him because all the other woman in the land where not right for Issac! So when the servant got to the place it was he was going to look for a woman for Issac he started to pray and ask God to show him who Issac wife would be! All the other  woman in the Land where not right for him so he wanted to make sure he had the right one! Someone who would be willing to walk in unity with him! His parents would soon pass and he would be left alone! So the servant was on a mission to find the right woman!

Genesis 24:15

And it came to pass, before he had done speaking, that, behold, Rebekah came out, who was born to Bethuel, son of Milcah, the wife of Nahor, Abraham's brother, with her pitcher upon her shoulder.
It wasn't that It just so happen that Rebekah came out down to the well when the servant finished praying! It was part of God's plan he knew who would be right for Issac! The passages continue on a read that she drew the water for the Servant and the Camels! She did what it was that the servant had prayed she would do! She was the one she did all the right things! He had found a wife for Issac!
Do you want your Happily Ever After?

Genesis 24:51

Behold, Rebekah is before thee, take her, and go, and let her be thy master's son's wife, as the Lord hath spoken.

The servant had found who he was looking for and after talking to her parents telling them the story of what God was doing. They agree'd to let her go on her way! God even had spoken and said that this was the right match for him! Yet it doesn't matter how much God or your parents want something for you when it comes to God you have free will! God can never make you want something you don't believe is right! The children of Israel didn't believe what they saw when God wanted to give them the promise land so they never entered! Just like if you don't believe in Jesus Christ you will never enter the kingdom of heaven and receive the promises of Christ! You have to want it! Willingly want it for your life! God can't force you to do anything! Do you want your happily ever after? After this life is Life with Christ or Life in hell!

Genesis 24:57-58

57 And they said, We will call the damsel, and enquire at her mouth.
58 And they called Rebekah, and said unto her, Wilt thou go with this man? And she said, I will go.

Her family wanted her to stay a few more days! Yet the Servant said please don't hinder what God has prospered! So the enquired to hear from her mouth her choice on if she would go or not. That's what it takes confession that Jesus Christ is Lord so that you can dwell in the promise land with your bridegroom( Jesus Christ). She accepted that this is what she wanted for her life! When you accept that you choose God's path then you can move forward in the things God has for your life and can receive the promises of God that await you on the otherside! She wanted her Happily Ever After!

One Way Ticket!

Genesis 24:60-61

60 And they blessed Rebekah, and said unto her, Thou art our sister, be thou the mother of thousands of millions, and let thy seed possess the gate of those which hate them.
61 And Rebekah arose, and her damsels, and they rode upon the camels, and followed the man: and the servant took Rebekah, and went his way.

Have you ever had a one way ticket somewhere. With plans of never going back to where you once came from. You are determined to start over where ever you go. When traveling with God When I first stepped out to follow JEsus  I would always get a one way ticket because where ever God was going to take me was going to be my last stop! Yet I never stayed in the promise land because I couldn't believe what it was he had for my life. Who could love JAsmine! I thought?Rebekah Had a one way to her Destiny! She knew it was her destiny! There was no turning back! When we believe that what God has for us is best for us we can receive those promises! When the Children of Israel finally believed they could cross the Jordan and enter into the promise land!  There was no turning back! She knew this was what God had for her, she was ready! She had a oneway ticket and their was no turning back! When We believe in Jesus Christ we have a oneway ticket to heaven their is no turning back!

Re-United

Joshua 1:10-11 Then Joshua commanded the officers of the people, saying,
11 Pass through the host, and command the people, saying, Prepare you victuals; for within three days ye shall pass over this Jordan, to go in to possess the land, which the Lord your God giveth you to possess it.

re·u·nite
To bring or come together again.

Joshua had been here before! He had seen the promise Land before! Yet this time he wasn't here just to spy it out! This time he was here to stay! He was being reunited with a place where he spent 40 year in the wilderness trying to get to! He had a one way ticket just like Rebekah did he would cross the Jordan and once it started crossing  he would never look back to the wilderness!  They where now back in belief with God and able to walk in his plan and reunit back with what it was that God had for their life! Why because they believed! When your able to walk see what God see's then you are able to walk in unity with him going down the same path as him!

Genesis 24:67
And Isaac brought her into his mother Sarah's tent, and took Rebekah, and she became his wife; and he loved her: and Isaac was comforted after his mother's death.

Issac didn't even have to question if this was his wife! He believed God just as Rebekah believed God!The servant brought back someone to be his bride! The servant knew this was the right bride for issac! It's like what God has once separated like he did with eve and adam. The missing rib was coming back together to be reunited as one! Like when we oneday reunit as one with Christ. When God gives you something it's yours to have! He makes no mistake!
